How to use it
No serum underneath unless it's water-based and fully absorbed. Oils and thick creams scatter the light before it gets in.
Eyes closed, goggles on. It's cordless, so read, walk around, or do nothing at all. It shuts off by itself.

Before you buy
Yes. Light therapy is non-ablative and doesn't rely on targeting pigment the way lasers and IPL do, so it doesn't carry the same risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The sham-controlled crow's-feet trial enrolled participants across Fitzpatrick skin types II to V.
Texture and tone first, usually somewhere in weeks three to four. Wrinkle change is slower — blinded assessors in the published trials scored improvements from week eight, with results still building at weeks twelve and sixteen. Take a photo on day one. Memory is a terrible measuring instrument.
Keep your eyes closed during treatment and use the supplied goggles. Red light is bright, and near-infrared reaches tissue even though you can't see it. Across clinical trials facial LED treatment is well tolerated with no major adverse effects reported, but eye protection is not the step to skip.
Yes — apply them after your session, not before. Anything sitting on the skin during treatment blocks or scatters light. If you're on isotretinoin or a photosensitising medication, check with your doctor first.
Because a wavelength printed on a box isn't the same as a wavelength coming out of the LED. Dose, irradiance and coverage decide whether a device replicates the conditions used in the research.
